At Miller Auto and Marine, one of the ways we set ourselves apart is our non-commissioned sales approach. While commissioned sales staff are common in auto dealerships and other industries, we find a non-commissioned sales approach to be more beneficial to our customers.

Today, I’m going to walk you through our non-commissioned approach and detail how it impacts the customer experience.

How our non-commissioned sales approach benefits customersWhen we say non-commissioned, we mean that our sales representatives do not receive a commission based on the type of vehicle or the price of the vehicle they sell. Initially, we did this to alleviate the pressure typical auto sales can place upon the buyer to spend more than they wish. At Miller Auto & Marine, we respect the budget of each customer and want to find the ideal fit for them.

It’s important that the internal policies at our dealership support a customer-focused approach. Helping our customers find their perfect vehicle can’t happen in a situation where a salesperson applies pressure or guilt.  

What Our Customers Can Expect

Since our approach is different from the typical auto dealership, it’s also important to let you know what you can expect from the sales staff at Miller Auto & Marine. Our sales reps will take the time to walk you through your options and answer whatever questions you may have.

Our sales reps work to make the car buying experience as comfortable as possible. They’ll ask you about your budget requirements, your vehicle-related needs, and your interest in particular features. Then, they’ll work to match you with the right vehicle.

By taking the financial incentive out of our sales process, our reps have a primary goal: to get each customer into a vehicle that’s a great fit for them. Whether a customer comes to us looking for a new, 2016 GMC Acadia or a 2011 Nissan Versa, they’ll be treated with the same level of respect, and they’ll receive the same level of attention from our staff.
